I need some advice about my moss berg maverick shotgun?

Can I still use my mossberg maverick pump shotgun if the stock is cracked? If not which would be a better replacement stock a pistol grip or the shoulder stock? I need to know because this is my first gun and I dont want to injure my self with my own weapon.
